For many cycling is a year round adventure. However, for most we are awaiting the warm weather. And we’ve now worn out all the cycling magazines that have collected over the winter months. How do you know you’re looking at a gravel bike? At first glance you’ll see wider tires and disc brakes. The disc brakes allow for wider tires. The wider tires provide more stability and a smoother ride. Disc brakes also have better and more consistent stopping power through variable conditions. The less obvious features are taller, slacker head-tube angles and longer wheel bases. All of those features combine to make a gravel bike even more comfortable.Giving you a more up right riding position; allowing you to ride further longer. The Diverge Elite DSW was a great ride around the city and out on spring time highways. It smoothly transitioned from pavement to dirt trails. Specialized has incorporated their Zertz dampening inserts into the fork and seat stays; which provides suspension on off road sections of your ride. We then took it out on the highway and gravel roads for a longer distance ride.
