DAYTIME CYCLING WITH LIGHTS
We have daytime running lights in vehicles; why wouldn’t we use lights cycling during the daylight? A recent study by the Traffic Research Group from Denmark showed a 19% decrease in cyclist vs vehicle accidents when daytime flashing lights were used. The study followed 4000 riders; half used daytime flashing lights. Front daytime lights are definitely effective however, the study found that the majority of accidents happens from behind. Increase your visibility at the very least by adding a rear flashing lights to your bike.
