RIDE FOR YOUR SOUL
Wow, we already find ourselves into August! Don’t panic, we feel like the best cycling of the season is autumn. On the highways of Central Alberta we are treated to rolling hills of golden fields and harvest sunsets. Rolling through the singletrack trails the leaves are changing colors as we take a deep breath and embrace the change. Where ever your path goes use time on your bike as your meditation. Celebrate your cycling goals you accomplished this season and set new ones for the fall. Maybe it’s to push your cycling season as far into the fall as possible. Don’t worry we’ll talk about how to prep your ride for the winter, but there are plenty more miles too go before that newsletter.

GET A GRIP!
There are 5 contact points between you and your bike, and your hands are two of those five points. Nothing ruins a ride faster then sore/numb hands. While it isn’t uncommon to experience hand fatigue on a longer ride, many people suffer on shorter rides. Your hands are always on your grips, so it is important to ensure they properly fit your hands. And are set up to create a straight line with your forearm. Ergon Bike Products designs grips that help significantly reduce numb, sore and fatigued hands/forearms. The design offers better distribution of forces and gets rid of horrid pressure points. They achieve more comfort by giving a generous platform for your palm to rest on. The angle of the grip is also completely customizable allowing you to achieve optimal wrist alignment. There are other bike fitting elements that contribute to hand numbness. Therefore, if you have anything niggling you should stop in for a proper bike fit. You can book a fit appointment by calling the shop.
